According to the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated May 30, 2025 No. UP-90, the Agency for the Development of Forests and Green Zones, Combating Desertification (hereinafter - the Forest Agency) was created on the basis of the Forestry Agency.

In accordance with the Decree, the Forestry Agency:

- creates and maintains state records of all forests and the state forest cadastre;

- The executive body of the republic is responsible for the implementation of the national project "Yashil Makon," the development of seedling farming, and the expansion of tree and shrub seedling nurseries.

Also, according to the newly introduced procedure based on this decree, starting from November 1, 2025, forest fund land areas will be protected separately, and their change in category will be carried out in accordance with the decision of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
