Irrigation wells are being commissioned in forestry enterprises

By the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated December 24, 2024 No. 454 "On Measures for the Development of Social and Production Infrastructure of the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2025-2027," the construction of 27 irrigation wells on forest fund lands with a total project cost of 12 billion 800 million soums is planned for this year. These days, systematic work is being carried out under the order of the State Institution "Building Operation and Construction and Repair Works" under the Ministry of Ecology.
It should be noted that the irrigation wells being commissioned are important for expanding forest areas and ensuring the quality of seedling care. To date, construction and repair work has been completed and 12 facilities have been commissioned, including:
- The well, built in the Yakkabog State Forestry, can irrigate 15 hectares of land. In the near future, catalpa, jasmine, and apricot saplings are planned to be planted in the area.
- With the help of an irrigation well in the Tashkent State Forestry, a 10-hectare nursery, as well as forests of elm and jasmine, are irrigated.
- With the help of a new irrigation well commissioned in the Syrdarya State Forestry, the possibility of improving 45 hectares of land has been created. On 2 hectares of land, a nursery will be created, and in the remaining part, forests of jasmine and elm seedlings, as well as medicinal areas of rosehip and jujube, will be created.
- It is planned to irrigate 20 hectares of land in the region using an irrigation well commissioned at the Kuyichirchik State Forestry. Now, a nursery will be built in the area, and saplings of elm, sycamore, mulberry, lavender, catalpa, and poplar trees will be planted.
- 35 hectares of land in the Andijan State Forestry will be irrigated using a new well. At the same time, it is planned to create a cultivated forest in the region.
- The irrigation well built in the Khatyrchi State Forestry provides water to 10 hectares of land. A nursery and a nursery will be built on the territory.
- The irrigation well in the Farish State Forestry is planned to irrigate 6 hectares of nurseries.
- The new well in the Kamashi State Forestry is designed to irrigate 5 hectares of land, and it is planned to plant mulberry and elm trees in the area.
- The newly built irrigation well in the Khorezm State Forestry will provide water to 10 hectares of land. Elm, mulberry, poplar, and catalpa are grown in the region.
- With the help of the irrigation well built for the Mubarek State Forestry, it is planned to organize the work of existing nurseries of higher quality.
- With the help of a new well in the Kashkadarya State Forestry, 4 hectares of land will be irrigated. The planting of jujube, juniper, jasmine, and elm seedlings is planned in this area.
- The irrigation well, commissioned at the Bakhmal State Forestry, is intended for irrigating the planned nursery on an area of 5 hectares.
Currently, work is underway at another 15 facilities. By the end of the 2nd quarter of this year, it is planned to fully complete the construction and repair work of all irrigation wells.
