Today, a meeting of the board dedicated to the work carried out by the Forestry Agency under the Ministry of Ecology in the first quarter of 2025 and the measures planned for implementation by the end of the year was held in the assembly hall of the Shakhrisabz Palace of Culture.

The meeting was attended by the Director of the Forestry Agency Erkin Mukhiddinov, responsible managers and employees of the Agency, and heads of regional state forestry enterprises.

E. Mukhiddinov opened the meeting with an introductory speech and acquainted everyone with the agenda and the composition of the committee members.

After that, the Forestry Agency presented analytical opinions on attracting investments in system organizations, ensuring financial stability, and the results of the first quarter of regional forestry.

Decree No. 16 of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated January 30, 2025, "On the State Program for the Implementation of the "Uzbekistan-2030" Strategy in the "Year of Environmental Protection and Green Economy," defines important tasks for expanding the territory of forests and increasing the level of greenery in our country.

"In the first quarter of 2025, measures were taken to create and restore forests on an area of 126 thousand hectares. In particular, a total of 124,500 hectares of "green cover" have been created in the Aral Sea region, 22,300 hectares in the Alat district of Bukhara region, 16,200 hectares in the Tamdyn and Uchkuduk districts of Navoi region, and 15,000 hectares in the Tuproqqala district of Khorezm region. Also, work has begun on creating terraced forests on an area of 500 hectares," said E. Mukhiddinov.

In order to develop the seedling industry, about twenty forestry enterprises specialize in seedling production, and a number of measures are being implemented in this direction. However, shortcomings in this area by some forestry enterprises were criticized.

During the meeting, E. Mukhiddinov analyzed such issues as the cultivation of medicinal plants, the creation of "green gardens" within the framework of the "My Garden" project, the creation of forest plantations using the terrace method, the proper organization of lease relations, fire prevention, and the fight against pests and diseases.
