Currently, the Jizzakh State Forestry, within the framework of the nationwide "Green Space" project, is continuing work on creating green parks on 35 hectares in the Sharaf-Rashidov district. It is noteworthy that these parks are being built using the terrace method, drawing on the experience of Turkey and China.
- Due to the sharply continental climate, the summers in these regions continue to be hot. "In such conditions, due to problems with irrigation, caring for planted seedlings at great expense and labor is a great achievement for the region," says Abdukarim Kholmatov, head of the Jizzakh State Forestry. - For this reason, we are paying serious attention to improving the methods of planting seedlings based on scientific approaches. Having visited Turkey and China, using innovations in the efficient use of natural rainwater and tree planting in rocky areas, green gardens are being created in our region using the terrace method.
These green parks are located on the hills in the territory of the "New Uzbekistan" massif. A total of 12 thousand seedlings of camel trees, elm, almond, pistachio, jasmine, and clove were planted on its territory. The terrace method helps prevent snow and rainwater from flowing down from the hill, accumulating on each floor, and maintaining moisture for a long time.
The foresters also made special preparations for the heat. The new gardens drink from the Zarafshan River. For this purpose, a reservoir was built on the basis of the Karayantak Canal, which flows out of the Tuyatortar Canal, into which the river flows. The water collected in this artificial reservoir rises to a height of 400 meters and reaches each sapling using drip irrigation. 6 billion soums have been allocated from the republican budget for this project. According to officials, the Jizzakh experience is currently being tested in the Shakhrisabz district.
