The event brought together responsible officials and representatives of the public. During the campaign, more than 3 hectares of land were developed, and nearly 4,000 saplings of various tree species, including ash, elm, Japanese pagoda tree and plane tree, were planted.
It is worth noting that the green belts established on the dried seabed of the Aral Sea play an important role in preventing salt and dust storms. Going forward, within the framework of the nationwide “Yashil Makon” project, 34 micro-forests, 17 shaded walking streets and 34 public parks are planned to be established in Karakalpakstan.
Importantly, during the autumn planting season, more than 10 million tree and shrub saplings are scheduled to be planted across the regions of the country. A “Yashil Lot” system will be established in every district.
These initiatives will contribute to increasing green spaces, preserving biodiversity, ensuring cleaner air and mitigating the adverse effects of climate change.
