The event was attended by officials of the Agency, experts from the Republican Center for Spirituality and Enlightenment, as well as heads of territorial state forestry enterprises.
During the event, it was particularly emphasized that the President’s speech pays special attention to all sectors, including environmental protection, the expansion of green areas across the country, and the establishment of new forests.
“In the next five years, we will increase the coverage of cultivated areas with water-saving technologies to 100 percent. This will become a nationwide goal. Attitude toward nature is a reflection of the culture of the people, the responsibility of the state, and the quality of development. Therefore, we will bring the nationwide ‘Green Space’ movement to a new qualitative level. Green areas around schools, kindergartens, hospitals and multi-storey residential buildings will be protected as an inviolable public asset. In the coming years, we will increase the share of green areas in district and city centers to 30 percent,” the speech states.
It was also noted that the country is entering a completely new stage of development, that the coming decade will be a period of national advancement for Uzbekistan, and that fundamentally changing attitudes toward nature will play an important role in this process.
At the event, which was held in a positive and inspiring atmosphere, Eshmurod Rakhimov, a member of the Republican Society of Enlightenment Promoters and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Economics, spoke about the large-scale reforms being implemented in the country on the direct initiative of the Head of State, Uzbekistan’s rich history, and the heritage left by our ancestors for present generations.
During the event, a video dedicated to the development path of New Uzbekistan was shown. It was also emphasized that the independence of Uzbekistan did not emerge only in 1991; rather, its roots go back to more than three thousand years of statehood traditions and the history of ancient civilization.
The state-building role of great scholars and thinkers who lived during the First and Second Renaissance periods, as well as that of Amir Temur, the great military and statesman, based on the principles of justice and creativity, was highlighted. It was also emphasized that independence restored to our people their honor and dignity, sacred religion, native language and national values.
In conclusion, Uzbekistan’s 35-year path of independent development has demonstrated significant achievements resulting from the unity, hard work and creative potential of our people.
The country now faces new strategic objectives aimed at developing education, healthcare, high technologies and the economy, protecting the environment and water resources, ensuring the rule of law, and strengthening international cooperation.
In the coming period, human dignity, the well-being of the people and national development will remain the key priorities, and Uzbekistan will continue to develop as an even stronger, prosperous, peaceful and flourishing state.
