During the examination, it was established that a land-use agreement had been concluded between the Dehqonobod State Forestry Enterprise and Maqsad Petroleum LLC for the purpose of conducting seismic exploration works. However, in the course of carrying out the seismic exploration works, Maqsad Petroleum LLC caused damage to trees and shrubs located on forest fund lands, in violation of the applicable legislation.

As a result, Maqsad Petroleum LLC seriously violated the requirements of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On Forests” as well as the relevant provisions of the Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Administrative Responsibility.

The documents collected regarding the incident have been duly formalized and will be submitted to the law enforcement authorities for a legal assessment.
