The event was attended by specialists from the State Forestry and Grassland Administration of China, representatives of the Forestry Agency under the National Committee for Ecology and Climate Change, as well as representatives from Central Asian countries.
During the event, participants studied the advanced experience of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region in combating desertification, restoring degraded lands, protecting forests and pastures, rational use of water resources, and preventing sand movement.
During the seminar, Chinese specialists presented practical approaches to establishing green vegetation cover in sandy and arid areas, conserving water resources, protecting forests, and preventing soil erosion.
As part of the week-long programme, an official opening ceremony was held for a professional development course at the Ningxia Vocational College of Winemaking and Desertification Control. Participants became acquainted with the college’s educational programmes, training and practical activities, as well as its specialist training programmes.
The participants also visited “Volson”, a water-saving irrigation company established in Yinchuan. The visit focused on technologies for efficient use of water resources, drip and precision irrigation, water distribution and management, and reducing water consumption.
Lectures were also delivered on combating desertification, preventing sandstorms, restoring pastures, and ensuring environmental sustainability. Particular attention was paid to the effective use of sandy lands through halophyte plants, as well as the scientifically based planting of trees and shrubs in arid areas.
It should be noted that these seminar and training activities contribute to ecosystem restoration in the region, mitigating the negative impacts of climate change, and ensuring cleaner atmospheric air.
