Agency for Increasing Forests and Green Areas and Combating Desertification

During the meeting, the sides discussed strengthening bilateral cooperation, expanding experience exchange among sector specialists, and introducing modern technologies and solutions more widely into the forestry sector.

Particular attention was paid to establishing regional cooperation in such areas as creating new forests, expanding green areas, restoring degraded lands, combating desertification, and preventing sand and dust storms.

Following the meeting, the guests were introduced to the activities of the Center for Central Asian Ecology and Environmental Research.

Importantly, within the framework of the cooperation, a number of projects are planned to be implemented, including the establishment of new forests in arid regions to ensure environmental sustainability in the region, protect settlements and agricultural lands from sand and dust storms, and establish halophyte gardens to prevent soil salinization.
