In his addresses at these events, the Head of State put forward a number of important initiatives. In particular, President Mirziyoyev paid special attention to environmental issues. He noted that climate-related challenges are increasingly affecting food, water and energy security, underscoring the need to develop a unified agenda on these issues within the SCO.

The Head of State also highlighted the need to make more active use of the potential of regional organisations to achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and proposed the establishment of an Open Bank of Interregional Projects and Technologies in the fields of environmental management, green energy, digital services and healthcare.

In addition, President Mirziyoyev put forward a number of proposals, including the resumption of dialogue and the easing of tensions in the Middle East; the development of a conceptual vision entitled “SCO 2040: A Space for Shared Development”, aimed at creating an interconnected and sustainable space; the development of an SCO Industrial Cooperation Roadmap bringing together special economic zones, production processes, markets and logistics; the establishment of a World Organisation for Cooperation in Artificial Intelligence; the holding in Tashkent next year of an SCO Forum on Artificial Intelligence and New Digital Solutions; the establishment of a Council for the Integration of the Railway Networks of SCO Member States; and the resumption of regular dialogue between the SCO and Afghanistan to discuss a broad range of security and economic cooperation issues.

It was also noted that Uzbekistan advocates the development of open and mutually beneficial cooperation across the Eurasian region. In this context, an initiative was put forward to establish a permanent SCO Plus Forum on Cultures and Civilisations and to hold the event in the city of Khiva in cooperation with interested United Nations bodies.

It should be noted that Uzbekistan remains committed to making a meaningful and practical contribution to strengthening shared prosperity and advancing multilateral cooperation.
