In particular, within the framework of UNCCD COP17, the Forestry Agency under the National Committee for Ecology and Climate Change reached an agreement with the reputable Swedish company BCC to exchange experience, study and introduce a forest restoration model.
The Swedish partners invited Uzbek forestry specialists and project designers to Sweden for professional development and practical experience sharing.
In addition, the Agency, in cooperation with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), reached an agreement to implement a project aimed at establishing greenhouses in mahallas located near forestry enterprises, as well as growing seedlings in household nurseries.
At the same time, plans are underway to develop a project for the construction of local underground structures in remote mahallas for the collection and storage of rainwater and groundwater.
The Agency also held negotiations with the Korean company Peace Forest Work, which implemented a project in Mongolia to plant coniferous trees across 3,000 hectares using grants from Korean companies. During the discussions, an agreement was reached to jointly develop a similar project.
