Under the agreement, the parties aim to implement joint projects focused on establishing shelter forests to increase the region’s green coverage, improving modern nurseries and mother plantations, and promoting sustainable forestry and green industry development.
The agreement also envisages cooperation in the rational use of water resources, restoration of degraded lands, prevention of soil salinization, and the gradual strengthening of ecosystems.
During the event, the parties highlighted the importance of systematically implementing joint projects, engaging sector specialists in project activities, and making effective use of available financing opportunities.
For reference, a number of successful initiatives were carried out in 2025 within the framework of cooperation between the Forestry Agency and Chinese partners.
In particular, halophyte gardens were established in five districts of Uzbekistan — Arnasay, Karmana, Mubarak, Karakul, and Nukus. In addition, 1.4 thousand tons of halophyte seeds were imported from China, and work has already begun on cultivating seedlings from these seeds.
Furthermore, beginning this year, a 5,000-hectare pistachio plantation is being established in Surkhandarya Region under the joint project of the Forestry Agency and the Chinese company “Sinoway Forest” titled “Development of Carbon-Sequestering Forestry and Ecosystem Restoration.”
