It is worth noting that the first startup project, called Smart Forestry, stands out for its potential benefits at a time when the risks associated with climate change are increasing worldwide. The project aims to expand green areas, establish new forests, and prevent forest fires. Currently, more than ten talented young specialists are working on the project.
According to the project leader, Akbarali Turdiyev, once implemented, the system will automatically detect forest fires at an early stage and promptly notify the responsible authorities. It will also monitor the condition of existing trees and shrubs and help prevent illegal logging. In nurseries, artificial intelligence technologies will be used to ensure systematic seedling care and proper irrigation.
The second startup project is being developed by four proactive student researchers from Karakalpakstan. According to the project leader, Hurliman Seytniyazova, the team is conducting research on propagating varieties of the Turon Guli tree that are adapted to the climate of the Aral Sea region. This fast-growing tree thrives in desert areas and has an average lifespan of 120–150 years. It is drought-resistant, can grow up to 15–20 meters in height, and helps reduce dust and sand storms while improving air quality.
Importantly, the young researchers plan to propagate selected varieties of the Turon Guli tree on a large scale and establish a “Green Belt” around the city of Nukus in the coming years.
