Agency for Increasing Forests and Green Areas and Combating Desertification

Within the framework of this meeting, Erkin Mukhiddinov, Director of the Forestry Agency under the National Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Ecology and Climate Change, and Liu Guohong, Head of the National Forestry and Grassland Administration of the People’s Republic of China, signed a memorandum of understanding on establishing cooperation in the fields of forestry and grassland management.

According to the memorandum, the parties will effectively cooperate in areas such as afforestation, forest protection and sustainable use of forests, protection and restoration of grasslands, seedling cultivation, combating desertification, development of the forestry industry and ecotourism, as well as prevention of forest and grassland fires.
