At the initiative of the Forestry Agency under the Ecology Committee and the Tashkent city administration, “green belts” consisting of 8–10 rows are being planted along highways.
Currently, tree planting activities are actively ongoing. In the Gulbog and Zabardast mahallas of Bektemir district, more than 8 hectares of “green belts” have already been created.
The Tashkent city state forestry enterprise is supplying seedlings of trees adapted to the local climate, such as maple, ash, Crimean pine, Japanese sophora, and paulownia.
At present, drip irrigation systems are being installed in the Gulbog mahalla to ensure proper care of the seedlings.
For reference, these activities are being carried out to improve the air quality in Tashkent city and to further increase the level of greenery.
