It was noted that certain measures have been implemented regarding the issues raised in the parliamentary inquiry. In particular, studies were conducted to identify reserves of promising raw plant materials, as well as to inventory the species composition of flora in protected natural areas.
Standard technological maps were developed for the cultivation and production of 34 types of medicinal and food plants.
With the participation of forestry enterprises and business entities, the cultivation, harvesting, and processing of medicinal and food plants have been organized on a cooperative basis.
Plantations of medicinal and food plants have been established on 5.9 thousand hectares of land managed by forestry enterprises.
In addition, 114 business entities have created nurseries and plantations covering an area of 28.2 thousand hectares for the cultivation of wild-growing medicinal, food, and technical plants.
At the same time, senators emphasized the need to accelerate the establishment of laboratories for the certification and standardization of medicinal plant raw materials and products derived from them, as well as elite seed-producing farms for cultivating high-generation selective varieties of medicinal plants.
Opinions were also expressed on the necessity of transitioning from wild species of medicinal plants to cultivated selective varieties and hybrids, and on expanding cultivated plantations.
Following the discussion, the relevant resolution of the Senate was adopted.
