Agency for Increasing Forests and Green Areas and Combating Desertification

The event was attended by the Director of the Forestry Agency, Erkin Muhiddinov, responsible officials of the Surkhandarya regional state forestry enterprises, and representatives of the local population living in nearby areas.

Within the framework of the project, which will be implemented on a total area of 5,000 hectares, it is planned to establish pistachio plantations, create sustainable forests that reduce harmful carbon emissions, generate carbon credits in accordance with international standards, restore degraded lands, and ultimately mitigate the negative impacts of climate change in the country.

During the event, a Chinese specialist conducted practical demonstrations and provided participants with scientifically based recommendations on planting and caring for pistachio and almond seeds.

At the conclusion of the event, relevant instructions and tasks were assigned to sector specialists regarding the implementation of the joint project.
