International Cooperation in Carbon Credit Development Expands

The event was attended by representatives of the Forestry Agency, the Uzhydromet Agency, the Uzbekhydrogeology State Unitary Enterprise, the Yashilloyiha Design Institute, as well as the Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemical Research.
During the negotiations, the parties discussed prospects for cooperation, as well as issues related to forest management, restoration, and sustainable use in desert and arid regions.
Erkin Mukhiddinov presented proposals and recommendations on future actions aimed at reducing the amount of harmful carbon emissions in the atmosphere and increasing the volume of sustainable carbon credit generation.
It was emphasized that the rational use of water resources, restoration of degraded lands, prevention of soil salinization, and strengthening of ecosystems have been identified as priority tasks in Uzbekistan.
The parties highlighted key issues such as the systematic implementation of joint projects, the involvement of sector specialists in the processes, and the effective use of climate finance opportunities.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the guests expressed their readiness to strengthen cooperation aimed at achieving environmental sustainability and improving air quality.
