During the cold winter days of 2023, a weak 6–7-month-old brown bear cub, separated from its mother, was found in the Uzun State Forestry area of Sariosiyo district, Surkhandarya region. At that time, the chances of survival for this little fluffy cub were very slim. However, thanks to the timely efforts of specialists, its life was saved.

At first, the bear cub was cared for at the forestry facility. After some time, it was transferred to the Tashkent Zoo. Necessary medical treatment was provided by veterinary specialists at the rehabilitation center. As its overall condition improved, the animal was given the name Zinka.
Today, Zinka is healthy and cheerful. She has become one of the favorite animals among zoo visitors, especially children. She is now celebrating her 3rd birthday.
We highly recommend visitors to the Tashkent Zoo to see Zinka, who was born in the majestic Surkhan Mountains, at least once. Such an encounter is sure to inspire in all of us a sense of care and responsibility toward wildlife and its preservation.
