Priority Tasks Identified for the Further Development of the Livestock Sector

A meeting chaired by Khurshid Koraboev, First Deputy Governor of Tashkent Region for Agriculture and Water Resources, was held to review the results achieved in the livestock sector during the first half of 2026 and to outline the key tasks to be completed by the end of the year.
During the meeting, it was noted that systematic efforts had been undertaken in the first half of the year to develop the livestock industry, increase agricultural production, and ensure a stable supply of food products for the population.
In particular, the number of cattle in the region has exceeded one million head, while 166 thousand tons of meat and 564 thousand tons of milk were produced during the first six months of the year.
The participants also reviewed ongoing efforts to attract investment into the sector, develop livestock breeding, commission new meat and dairy processing facilities, strengthen the feed base, and expand the use of hydroponic technologies.
The meeting discussed the implementation of 252 investment projects worth a total of 2 trillion UZS, the commissioning of modern meat and dairy processing facilities, and measures aimed at increasing the number of pedigree livestock.
Special attention was paid to expanding the cultivation of forage crops, accelerating artificial insemination programs, developing breeding farms, and maintaining stable prices for meat and other livestock products in the domestic market.
At the conclusion of the meeting, responsible officials were instructed to ensure the timely implementation of every investment project, further increase livestock production, and guarantee the uninterrupted supply of high-quality and affordable livestock products to the population.
