Public Transport Systems in Six Cities of the Region to Be Upgraded to a New Level
A comprehensive presentation on the development of the transport systems in the cities of Yangiyul, Angren, Ohangaron, Almalyk, Nurafshan, and Chirchiq was presented to Tashkent Region Governor Zoyir Mirzayev.
The presentation outlined the key priorities for improving public transport through a unified management system, providing convenient and efficient transport services for passengers, and developing modern transport infrastructure.
According to the analysis, reorganizing urban transport networks, optimizing bus routes, improving the management of transport corridors, and constructing modern bus stops and transport interchange hubs could increase the number of daily public transport users from 298.6 thousand to 533 thousand. This would raise daily passenger traffic by 234.4 thousand people, or 78.5 percent.
It was emphasized that these results will be achieved not only through the procurement of new buses but also by comprehensively reorganizing the entire transport system based on modern approaches.
In addition, services operating under gross contracts will be managed through a unified digital registry covering route performance, bus operations, passenger flow, service intervals, and subsidies.
Furthermore, unified transport forecasts for 2026, 2030, and 2035, along with a methodology for evaluating transport system efficiency, will be developed for the cities.
At the conclusion of the presentation, it was stressed that the primary objective of these measures is to establish a safe, comfortable, sustainable, and modern public transport system for residents while bringing the quality of urban mobility to a new level.
