The 3rd Forum of the Regions of Uzbekistan and Belarus Held in Minsk

The forum was attended by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khodjayev, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Yuri Shuleiko, Governor of Tashkent Region Zoir Mirzayev, heads of Belarusian regions, as well as representatives of the business communities of both countries.
The speakers emphasized that, thanks to the strong political will of the leaders of Uzbekistan and Belarus, as well as relations built on mutual trust and strategic partnership, cooperation between the two countries continues to develop steadily, while interregional ties are gaining new momentum and substance.
In his address, Governor of Tashkent Region Zoir Mirzayev noted that practical cooperation between Tashkent Region and the regions of Belarus has intensified significantly in recent years.
He highlighted that joint projects being implemented in the fields of industry, mechanical engineering, and the agro-industrial sector have become a successful example of interregional partnership and stressed the importance of making even more effective use of the existing potential.
According to the forum, Tashkent Region's foreign trade turnover with the Republic of Belarus reached USD 156.1 million by the end of 2025, representing a 128 percent increase compared to 2024.
Currently, 46 joint Uzbek-Belarusian enterprises operate in the region. Notably, their number has more than doubled over the past year.
Within the framework of the forum, a series of bilateral meetings aimed at further strengthening cooperation were also held.
At the conclusion of the event, a cooperation agreement was signed between the Gomel Regional Executive Committee and the Tashkent Regional Administration (Khokimiyat).
