Report Meeting of the Regional Branch of the Journalists' Union Held in Nurafshan

Today, a reporting meeting of the Tashkent Regional Branch of the Journalists' Union of Uzbekistan was held in the city of Nurafshan, dedicated to reviewing its activities for the period of 2022–2025.
The event brought together members of the Union, chief editors of regional, district, and city newspapers, veteran journalists, young creative professionals, participants of creative clubs operating under the Union, as well as journalists working in the information services of regional administrations and organizations.
In accordance with the agenda, R. Sheraliyev, Chairman of the Regional Branch Board, presented a report on the work carried out during the reporting period, the achievements made in the field, and the priority tasks for the future. In addition, T. Hakimov, Chairman of the Audit Commission and Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Mash'al newspaper, delivered a report on the use and efficiency of the organization's financial resources.
During the meeting, a new composition of the Regional Branch Board and the Audit Commission was elected. Delegates to participate in the Republican Conference of the Journalists' Union of Uzbekistan were also selected.
During the discussions, People's Poet of Uzbekistan Mahmud Toir, veteran journalists Ozod Khushnazarov and Hanifa Zakirova, Tukhtamurod Hasanboyev, Editor-in-Chief of the newspapers Toshkent Haqiqati and Tashkentskaya Pravda, Editor-in-Chief of Mash'al newspaper Otabek Isroilov, publicist and poet Saodat Musayeva, and other participants shared their views and assessments regarding the activities of the regional branch over the past four years.
Participants put forward a number of proposals and initiatives aimed at further developing the field. In particular, they discussed enhancing the activities of creative clubs, completing the anthology of regional journalists, publishing books by journalists and publicists and organizing their presentations, strengthening mentor-mentee traditions, and expanding the Union's membership through talented and proactive young journalists.
As emphasized during the meeting, one of the key tasks facing modern journalism today is to enhance the prestige of the national press, provide comprehensive support to creative professionals, and attract more young specialists with modern knowledge and perspectives to the field.
All agenda items were reviewed, and relevant resolutions were adopted. Priority areas for future activities were also identified.
Shukhrat Oripov, Acting Chairman of the Journalists' Union of Uzbekistan, also addressed the participants at the reporting meeting.
