On May 15, 2026, in the city of Almalyk, one of the major investment projects of the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex — the modern and high-tech “Kovuldi” gold processing plant — was officially commissioned in a ceremonial opening event.
The ceremony was attended by the management of AMMC, labor veterans, industry specialists, and representatives of the public.
Speakers at the event emphasized that the launch of this plant will play an important role in the efficient use of local raw material resources, the steady increase of gold production volumes, and the strengthening of the country’s national gold reserves.
According to reports, the new plant is designed to process ore extracted from the “Kovuldi” and “Quyi-Kenjassoy” deposits. Its annual processing capacity reaches up to 200,000 tons of ore.
The construction of the plant was carried out by the “Olmaliqmetallurgqurilish” trust of AMMC. Teams from the Specialized Repair Works Department, Production Automation Department, Technical Safety Service, Motor Transport Department, Material and Technical Supply Department, as well as the “Kovuldi” mine personnel, also actively participated in the construction process.
The design work was completed by the Project Works Department of the complex, while the technical production division of the Capital Construction Department contributed significantly to organizing the construction activities.
A two-story administrative and utility building was erected on the plant’s premises. Modern facilities were created for employees, including a dining hall, washing rooms, and all necessary amenities. A separate guardhouse was also built for security personnel.
Modern technological equipment was installed for the production process, including flotation machines, hydrocyclones, mills, classifiers, contact tanks, thickeners, and overhead cranes.
Notably, several technological units installed at the plant were manufactured by the complex’s Central Repair and Mechanical Plant under the localization program.
Large-scale landscaping and greening works were also carried out throughout the facility.
As a result of launching the plant, an additional 151 new jobs were created.
Currently, gold processing plants under the Angren Mining Administration and the Chadak Mining Administration in the Namangan region are also operating efficiently within the AMMC system.
