The delegation of Tashkent Region led by Governor Zoir Mirzayev concluded its official visit to the Kingdom of Spain and began meetings and negotiations on cooperation in Rome, Italy.

In particular, within the framework of the delegation’s working visit to the Italian Republic, a meeting was held in Rome with the leadership of Fruitimprese and representatives of its member companies.
The regional delegation was warmly welcomed by renowned Italian entrepreneur in the fruit and vegetable sector and head of Fruitimprese, Marco Salvi.
This organization is one of Italy’s largest independent sectoral associations in the field of fruit and vegetable import and export and was established in 1949. Today, Fruitimprese unites more than 300 leading importers, exporters, and agribusiness companies.
During the meeting, the parties discussed further expansion of trade and economic relations between Uzbekistan and Italy in the agricultural sector, particularly the development of fruit and vegetable exports, modern agrologistics, the processing industry, and investment cooperation.
Zoir Mirzayev provided information on the reforms being implemented in Tashkent Region in agriculture, including the fruit and vegetable sector, measures aimed at increasing export-oriented production volumes, as well as ongoing efforts to develop agro-clusters and logistics infrastructure.
The importance of exchanging experience with the Italian side in introducing systems for storage, sorting, packaging, and logistics, as well as in sanitary standards and certification procedures in line with European Union market requirements, was also emphasized.
During the negotiations, Fruitimprese Chairman Marco Salvi paid particular attention to expanding international cooperation in Italy’s fruit and vegetable sector, entering new markets, and introducing innovative approaches. He noted that Uzbekistan’s agricultural potential, export opportunities, and promising processing projects are attracting significant interest among Italian business circles.
The parties emphasized that this dialogue would help elevate agro-industrial cooperation between Italy and Uzbekistan, including Tashkent Region, to a new stage and contribute to establishing strong and long-term partnership relations between the business communities of the two countries.
