On January 11, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the production cluster of the Defense Industry Agency, located in the Tashkent region.
On the initiative and under the leadership of the head of our state, a set of measures is being implemented to reform and comprehensively modernize the national Armed Forces, their gradual transformation into a new army that fully meets modern requirements and serves as a guarantor of state independence and sovereignty, a guarantee of the security and prosperity of the people of New Uzbekistan.
Thus, in recent years, in order to increase the efficiency and quality of operational and combat training of troops, to create modern conditions for increasing their combat proficiency, a number of training grounds with the necessary infrastructure have been created. This work continues consistently.
Along with this, priority is given to modernizing and enhancing the potential of the domestic defense industry, which is rising to a new level. It is for these purposes that in January last year the President instructed to transfer the Defense Industry Agency to the Ministry of Defense and take the necessary measures to further develop its activities.
The agency has launched systematic work to master the production of popular types of military-technical products, acquire and supply modern military equipment to the troops, as well as modernize existing weapons.
Today, during a visit to the facilities, the President was reported in detail on the measures taken and further plans to increase production potential and strengthen the material and technical base of the Defense Industry Agency.
In accordance with the instructions of the head of state, large-scale construction work, major repairs and reconstruction of existing facilities were carried out in a short period on the basis of several technical units of the Ministry of Defense. The equipment repair plant and the Central storage base for automotive equipment of the Ministry of Defense were transferred to the cluster territory.
Enterprises located on the territory of the new cluster were integrated, and a network of interconnected repair shops was created. They carry out work on the repair and modernization of weapons and military equipment, radar installations, optical and electro-optical instruments, repair of small arms and artillery weapons, as well as precision metal processing.

This makes it possible to provide most of the production needs for electricity from alternative sources.
In addition, the head of state was presented with modernized samples of military equipment and weapons, the repair and modernization of which were carried out at the production facilities of the new cluster of the Defense Industry Agency.
During a demonstration of products from defense industry enterprises, the head of state was shown in action a set of special equipment and devices that are part of the “Soldier of the Future” group complex.
