Today, Ulugbek Kosimov, Governor of Surkhandarya Region, received a delegation headed by Evija Dumpe, Representative of the Latvian Ministry of Transport for cooperation with Central Asian countries, and Aleksandr Vidyakin, Chairman of the Board of the Baltic–Central Asia Association for Economic Development.
The meeting focused particularly on expanding Surkhandarya’s access to European markets, making effective use of its transport and logistics potential, and attracting new investment projects.

The meeting also considered opportunities to implement joint investment projects in areas such as the digital economy, smart city solutions, green energy, water-saving technologies, and waste recycling.
The agenda also included attracting tourists from Europe to Surkhandarya and establishing direct cooperation between tour operators.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties agreed to develop concrete joint projects in priority areas and continue practical cooperation.
The Latvian delegation is currently familiarizing itself with the transport and logistics capabilities and export potential of the Termez International Trade Center.
