From October 3 to 7 this year, an international conference entitled “The Role and Significance of the Scholarly Legacy of Imam Burhan al-Din al-Marghinani in Contemporary Islamic Studies” is being held in Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan.
A delegation from Uzbekistan, consisting of representatives of the religious and educational sphere and headed by the First Deputy Chairman of the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan, is participating in the conference.
During the main event, special emphasis was placed on the fact that the renowned scholar Burhan al-Din al-Marghinani devoted his life to the systematic development of Islamic jurisprudence and the principles of fiqh. The participants highlighted the great scholarly significance of his works that have survived to the present day, including “Bidayat al-Mubtadi”, the commentary “Kifayat al-Muntahi”, which exceeds 80 volumes but remained unfinished, and his outstanding work “Al-Hidaya”, which he spent 13 years refining and completing.
It was noted that relations between the two countries have been developing in recent years thanks to the efforts of their leaders. In particular, attention was drawn to the initiatives put forward by the President of Uzbekistan at international forums aimed at establishing peace and stability in Afghanistan, as well as such important initiatives as the construction of the magnificent Imam al-Bukhari Madrasah in Balkh Province.
📚 As part of the event, a new book dedicated to the life and scholarly legacy of Burhan al-Din al-Marghinani was presented to the conference participants.
The guests visited the Kalimat Research Center, the National Museum of Kabul, as well as the garden and mausoleum of Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur, where they also familiarized themselves with the activities and history of these sites.
