The 20th Asian Games are currently being held in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan. Abdul Vahhob Rashidov, a member of Uzbekistan’s national karate team and a representative of Surkhandarya region, won the gold medal in the under-67 kg weight category.
The official awards ceremony has also taken place. Our athlete, who defeated Japanese karateka Yugo Kozaki, was ceremoniously presented with the gold medal.
During the medal ceremony, the State Flag of the Republic of Uzbekistan was raised in honor of our champion, while the National Anthem of Uzbekistan proudly echoed across Aichi-Nagoya.
We would like to note that this victory is the first gold medal for our delegation.
👏 Heartfelt congratulations to our champion on this outstanding victory!
