Today, Ulugbek Kosimov, Governor of Surkhandarya Region, received a delegation led by Dr. Rashid Al-Kuwari, Chief Executive Officer of Qatar-based companies “Horizon Doha” and “Plantation for Agricultural Consultancy.”

During the meeting, the parties discussed the construction of modern greenhouse complexes in Surkhandarya Region, the introduction of hydroponic technologies that enable the efficient use of water and energy resources, as well as the localization of greenhouse structures and technological equipment.

Particular attention was paid to opportunities to expand foreign investment and technological cooperation within the “Surxon-Agro” agro-cluster, introduce advanced agricultural technologies, and increase the production of competitive agricultural products.

Qatari investors expressed interest in introducing modern greenhouse solutions tailored to local conditions and the needs of farming enterprises, as well as in implementing joint investment projects.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties agreed to conduct an in-depth study of promising projects, develop mechanisms for their implementation, and further strengthen long-term cooperation.

As part of the visit, the delegation familiarized itself with the operations of major greenhouse complexes in the region and held discussions with local entrepreneurs.
