Water Is a Source of Prosperity: Major Reconstruction of the Sopka Canal Begins

Reconstruction work on the Sopka Canal has begun in Jarqo‘rg‘on District as part of Phase III of the 2026 Driver Program. The project is aimed at providing a stable irrigation water supply to areas that have faced water shortages for many years.
Upon completion of the project, a reliable irrigation water supply will be provided to 390 hectares of household farmland belonging to 420 households. In addition, irrigation conditions will improve on 800 hectares of farmland operated by farmers, while 70 hectares of new land will be brought into agricultural use.
The project will promote the efficient use of water resources, improve the reclamation condition of agricultural land, increase crop productivity, and contribute to higher incomes for local residents.
