Surkhandarya Region continues to implement reforms aimed at expanding foreign economic relations, making more effective use of international transport corridors, and further accelerating export and import operations. Improving transport and logistics infrastructure and modernizing customs administration in line with current standards remain among the key priorities.

To support these efforts, the Surkhandarya Regional Customs Administration organized an open dialogue dedicated to the further development of the transport and logistics sector. The event brought together representatives of logistics companies, export-import businesses, foreign trade participants, relevant government agencies, and industry experts.

The participants discussed measures to further simplify customs clearance procedures, improve the speed and quality of services at border customs posts, expand the use of digital technologies and risk management systems, increase the capacity of transport and logistics infrastructure, and create a more business-friendly environment through the prompt resolution of entrepreneurs' concerns.

It was noted that Surkhandarya's geostrategic location on the border with Afghanistan provides significant opportunities to expand trade and economic cooperation among regional countries, fully utilize the region's transit potential, and establish new logistics chains.

During the event, investment projects focused on sorting, packaging, and re-exporting fruits, vegetables, and dried fruits imported from Afghanistan using modern technologies were presented. It was emphasized that developing such value-added chains will help increase the volume of export-oriented products, enhance their competitiveness, create new jobs, and strengthen the region's export potential.

At the conclusion of the event, proposals and appeals submitted by entrepreneurs were comprehensively reviewed, and specific practical measures were identified to address existing challenges and create even more favorable conditions for participants in foreign economic activities.
