Our esteemed President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, at the National Council meeting on March 5, 2025, compared corruption to a “cancer” in the body of society and stated:
“Preventing corruption begins with selecting professional and dedicated personnel for public service and vaccinating them with the ‘vaccine of honesty.’”
“Corruption in public administration is the erosion of public trust. We must never allow such a thing!”
These words should be a wake-up call for all of us.
Today, combating corruption has become a top priority of our state policy. However, corruption still exists in some sectors, which seriously undermines the effectiveness of ongoing reforms.
We must never forget: “The crooked deed will be exposed, even after forty years.” Every act of corruption will inevitably be revealed and face legal consequences. I want to warn everyone: Punishment for crime is inevitable. Every public servant must take this truth to heart.
A public servant is not just an official — they are a symbol of the people’s trust, a representative of the state. Therefore, being a public servant is a great honor and an even greater responsibility.
These principles are clearly reflected in Articles 15 and 16 of the Law "On Civil Service," adopted on August 8, 2022, which require honesty, prevention of conflicts of interest, and dedication from every state employee.
Every promise we make to our people and every reform we implement must be based on purity, honesty, and accountability. As our President firmly stated: “A leader who has lost the people’s trust will lose their position.”
Let us all sincerely analyze our own activities. Let’s prioritize public interest over personal gain. Let us fulfill our duties with integrity, honesty, and conscience. The future of our nation and the society we leave to our children depends on the kind of leaders we choose to be today.
Fulfilling the goals of the Development Strategy, the priorities set at the National Council meeting, and the tasks assigned to local administrations — is our sacred duty.
I call on all of you to join in a decisive and uncompromising fight against corruption!
Sincerely,
Alisher Fayzilloyev
Hokim of Shofirkon District
