The II International Pottery Forum held in Rishton has become a historic and unforgettable event for its people. Within the framework of the forum, Rishton was awarded the prestigious title of “World Crafts City”. This decision reflects the centuries-old heritage of Rishton’s pottery school and its significant role in the global arena.
The official ceremony was attended by Khayrullo Bozarov, Governor of the region, Saad al-Qaddumi, President of the World Crafts Council, Rasuljon Mirzaakhmedov, Chairman of the national “Hunarmand” association, as well as distinguished guests. A special certificate was handed to Bahodirjon Xoliqov, Governor of Rishton district.
Famous pottery master Alisher Nazirov stated:
— Rishton’s pottery has ancient traditions. This title is both an honor and a responsibility for us, the craftsmen.
Head of the “Nuroniy” Foundation, Tursunkhoja Abdurakhmonov, added:
