🔥 During the autumn and winter season, the increased use of heating appliances raises the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning, ignition of gas-air mixtures and fires.
The Pakhtachi District Department of Emergency Situations urges residents to strictly observe safety rules when using gas and heating equipment.
❗ WHY IS CARBON MONOXIDE DANGEROUS?
Carbon monoxide (CO) is a colourless, odourless and tasteless toxic gas. It is produced when natural gas, coal, firewood and other fuels do not burn completely.
When inhaled, carbon monoxide disrupts the blood’s ability to carry oxygen and may cause severe poisoning.
🚨 MAIN SYMPTOMS OF POISONING:
🔸 headache and dizziness;
🔸 nausea and vomiting;
🔸 weakness and rapid fatigue;
🔸 difficulty breathing;
🔸 rapid heartbeat;
🔸 loss of consciousness.
🛡 FOLLOW THESE SAFETY RULES!
✅ Do not use gas stoves to heat rooms.
✅ Have heating stoves, chimneys and ventilation systems inspected regularly.
✅ Never leave operating gas appliances unattended.
✅ Do not repair or modify gas appliances yourself.
✅ Do not burn charcoal or firewood or use a brazier for heating in enclosed spaces.
✅ Install carbon monoxide detectors in your home.
🆘 IF CARBON MONOXIDE POISONING IS SUSPECTED:
🔹 Move immediately into fresh air and take others to a safe location.
🔹 From a safe location, call 103 or 112.
🔹 Do not re-enter the hazardous room; wait for emergency specialists to arrive.
📢 DEAR RESIDENTS!
During the autumn and winter season, it is essential to ensure that heating equipment is in safe working condition in every home, educational and medical institution, and other facility.
Remember! Preventing an emergency is easier than dealing with its consequences.
