💧 Water Resource Management Efforts Reviewed in Pakhtachi District

Practical measures are being carried out in Pakhtachi District as part of the implementation of Resolution No. 111 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated March 19, 2026, “On Measures to Ensure the Rational Use of Water Resources in Irrigation Systems and Prevent Water Shortages.”
In accordance with Annex No. 2 to the resolution, a task has been set to construct a water storage reservoir with a capacity of 100,000 cubic meters on an area of 1 hectare in Pakhtachi District, Samarkand Region.
As part of the implementation of this task, construction has begun on a water storage reservoir in Qushhovuz Mahalla for irrigation purposes using water-saving technologies. Excavation works for the reservoir are currently nearing completion.
To review the progress of the construction works, Rustam Juraevich Qarishev, Deputy Minister of Water Resources of the Republic of Uzbekistan, visited Pakhtachi District.
During the visit, Qayum Khushbakov, Hokim of Pakhtachi District, and Doston Abdurahimov, Director of the district Water Supply Service state enterprise, provided information on the work being carried out.
The Deputy Minister also visited a recreation area being developed along the Narpay Canal in Fay Mahalla. Relevant proposals and recommendations were provided to district officials on expanding opportunities for the efficient use of water bodies.
During the visit, Qayum Khushbakov, Hokim of Pakhtachi District, and Deputy Minister R. Qarishev exchanged views on the effective use of water resources and the work planned for the future.
