Every year, from November 25 – International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women – to December 10 – Human Rights Day, the global campaign "16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence" is held worldwide.
To mark the launch of the nationwide campaign under the slogan "Unite to End Digital Violence Against Women," a seminar was organized in the Pakhtachi District to explain the essence and practical significance of this initiative.
Senior Inspector for Women's Affairs of the Pakhtachi District Department of Internal Affairs, Captain N.M. Mamadisayeva, presented detailed information to seminar participants – mahalla chairpersons and women's movement activists – on cases of violence against women in the digital space, including cyberbullying, unauthorized distribution of personal data, online harassment, and threats.
Participants also discussed the legal framework for preventing digital violence, existing protection mechanisms, and organizational and practical measures to improve digital literacy among the population, particularly women. The staff made specific proposals and recommendations for strengthening preventative efforts, improving online safety training programs, and raising the public's information awareness.
This initiative is an important step in a comprehensive effort to reliably protect women's rights and freedoms in the digital space, ensure their safe lives, and develop digital culture in society.
"Let's Unite to End Digital Violence Against Women!" The "16 Days of Activism" campaign is currently underway.
