The opening ceremony noted the growing interest in Uzbek national handicrafts in recent years both in our country and around the world. The festival is designed to demonstrate the work of artisans living in the region and engaged in manual labor, and is organized to develop the traditions of folk embroidery in applied art, promoting its unique examples.
The festival is held in Nurata for a reason: since ancient times, it has been one of the cultural centers where folk crafts and various areas of folk applied art have developed. Based on the tradition of "ustoz-shogird", family dynasties of artisans pass on the secrets of national embroidery from ancestors to the next generations.
Master embroiderers (housewives, craftsmen, designers), as well as artisans, family entrepreneurs and home workers, representatives of the local population presented a wide variety of products - hats, scarves, shawls, carpets, bags, embroidered tablecloths and similar handicrafts.
As part of the festival, a demonstration (catwalk show) was held with the participation of girls in national costumes and jewelry under the slogans "We value values!" and "Values are great in New Uzbekistan!".
Among the representatives of the sphere who took part in the festival, winners were noted in the nominations "Best embroidery", "Best embroiderer", "Continuer of the ancient dynasty of embroiderers", "Embroiderer who revived ancient traditions", "The most creative embroiderer", "The youngest student".
Employees of the district House of Culture, as well as performers of the Navoi regional branch of the State Philharmonic Society performed in front of numerous spectators of the festival.
