A Fresh Breath of Air in Nukus from Afar
Nukus, the heart of Karakalpakstan—a city whose spirit is as wide as the sea—is breathing with a completely new rhythm and momentum today. As you walk through the streets of the city in recent years, you can feel the spirit of transformation, renewal, and creation at every turn. These are not merely figures or dry statistics in reports; they are a living reality reflected in the lives of the people, in the hopeful eyes of the youth, and in the heights of the newly rising structures.
In this year alone, direct foreign investments entering our city have exceeded $100 million. The magnificent 24-story residential complexes and a 5-star hotel being built by Turkish partners, 120 modern electric buses imported from China, and new pharmaceutical and manufacturing facilities all demonstrate that Nukus is evolving not only into an industrial center, but also into a modern, comfortable city.
The expansion of our export geography to countries such as Azerbaijan, Mongolia, Syria, and Poland, alongside the arrival of leading national brands like EVOS, Oqtepa Lavash, Safia, and INBAZAR on our streets, highlights the dramatic evolution in the lifestyle and opportunities of Nukus residents. Industrial goods, construction materials, and confectionery products manufactured by local entrepreneurs are now reaching international markets.
Most importantly, human well-being and interests lie at the heart of these projects. Newly created jobs, prosperity reaching hundreds of households, and firm confidence in the future define the true economic identity of our city. Nukus today is not just an arena of change, but a city of realized dreams and new opportunities, boldly stepping into tomorrow.
In this context, on September 10 of this year, the city administration organized a press conference for local media representatives, journalists, and bloggers. Hamzat Davletmuratov, Deputy Khokim of Nukus and Head of the Department for Investments, Industry, and Trade, attended the event and provided media representatives with detailed insights into ongoing investment projects, industrial capacities, and new economic opportunities in the city.
