On the Eve of Independence Day, 12 Major Facilities Launched in Karakalpakstan
Under the participation of our esteemed President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, an official ceremony was held to launch 163 new facilities worth a total of 50 trillion sum across the regions on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of our country’s independence.
During the event, the Head of State congratulated representatives of the general public gathered in regional studios, and through them all our people, on the approaching great holiday.
The Chairman of the Jokargy Kenes of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, Amanbay Orynbayev, along with representatives of the general public, attended via video link from the newly reconstructed Turon Stadium in the city of Nukus.
It is worth noting that today, the Head of State pressed the symbolic button, launching 72 major investment projects and 91 social sector facilities into operation.
Among these, a total of 12 facilities were commissioned in Karakalpakstan. These include the newly reconstructed Turon Football Stadium worth 117 billion sum, a 200-megawatt wind power plant and a 100-megawatt energy storage system worth 3.1 trillion sum, the Karakalpakstan Scientific and Practical Medical Academy worth 153 billion sum, a lime production plant worth 12 million dollars, the Manghit water treatment facility reconstructed for 167.7 billion sum funded by international financial institutions, a gas concrete block production enterprise in Nukus worth 15 million dollars, and a project to produce fiberboard (DVP) in Kegeyli worth 4 million dollars.
In addition, a poultry farming complex worth 60 billion sum in the Nukus district, the Pearson Btec international educational program project from the UK worth 3.3 billion sum, a modern private school in Nukus worth 21 billion sum, the newly built Secondary School No. 23 in the Takhiatash district worth 8.5 billion sum, and a new preschool education organization in the Chimbay district worth 13.4 billion sum were put into service.
Of course, these commissioned facilities will serve for many years for the well-being of our people.
