Nukus Hosts DXX Cup Finals Amid World Cup Anticipation
Today, the youth square along the Dostlik Canal in Nukus hosted the award ceremony for the city stage of the State Security Service (DXX) Cup. The Khokim of Nukus, Abat Daniyarov, addressed the gathering to congratulate the participants on their sports victories and wished them further success in the upcoming national stages of the tournament. The ceremony was also attended by the Prosecutor of Nukus City, R. Bauaddinov, the Head of the City Internal Affairs Department, M. Xojamuratov, and the Head of the City State Tax Inspection, A. Seitov, who all extended their congratulations to the young athletes.
The grand conclusion of the Nukus city stage of the DXX Cup meaningfully coincides with the official start of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. In a historic moment for the nation, the national team will play its opening match against Colombia on June 18, adding an extra layer of celebration to today's youth sports event.
The competitive tournament saw enthusiastic participation from across the region, bringing together 71 men's teams and 71 women's teams representing a total of 71 mahallas.
In the primary football category, the team from To‘ng‘ich Qo‘nis mahalla secured the first-place victory, followed by Qo‘sbulog‘ mahalla in second place and Sharq mahalla in third.
The men's mini-football tournament concluded with Ota Makon mahalla claiming the top spot, while Navro‘z mahalla and Jayxun mahalla secured second and third places, respectively.
Meanwhile, the women's mini-football division saw Anasoy mahalla emerge victorious in first place, with Olmazor mahalla taking second and the Botanika Bog‘i mahalla team finishing in third place.
The event concluded with the presentation of diplomas and commemorative gifts to all the winning teams, followed by a celebratory concert program for the participants and spectators.
