"It was a tremendous honor for me to read the President's address today to the participants of the 8th Assembly of the Global Environment Facility, which has commenced its work in Samarkand. The forum provided an opportunity to discuss pressing climate challenges for Central Asia and the world at large, while also highlighting Uzbekistan's growing authority in the global environmental agenda.
Additionally, the 'Eco Expo Central Asia-2026' exhibition was organized as part of the Assembly, where grant agreements worth $80 million and investments exceeding $520 million in 'green' projects have already been signed. The main task now is the implementation of these initiatives to preserve nature. In total, more than 8.5 thousand specialists from 180 countries are participating in both events."
