NUKUS SET FOR A MAJOR REVIVAL: TRANSFORMING THE CITY’S HEART
NUKUS, April 4, 2026 – A new era of urban development is sweeping through Nukus as the city administration unveils an ambitious plan to modernize the "Dustlik" neighborhood. This large-scale initiative, driven by the Presidential "Zarbdor" (Rapid Development) strategy, aims to deliver immediate results and fundamentally improve the daily lives of residents.
At a recent press briefing, the Mayor of Nukus, A. Daniyarov, presented a vision that goes beyond simple construction—it is about creating a livable, vibrant city center.
The centerpiece of the project is a modern 1.2-kilometer promenade that will stretch through the heart of the "Dustlik" area. More than just a walkway, this space will serve as a bridge between the neighborhood and the world-famous I.V. Savitsky State Museum of Art. This connection is expected to boost the city’s cultural profile, making it a key attraction for both locals and international tourists.
The new development is designed to integrate perfectly with the "24/7" street currently rising in the "Khalklar Dustligi" district. Once completed, these projects will form a continuous chain of recreational zones across the capital, providing a modern, interconnected environment for leisure and business alike.
The Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, Farkhod Ermanov, attended the presentation and expressed strong support for the project, praising its focus on people-centric urban planning.
