What Signs Should Not Be Included in a Company Name?
According to Regulation No. 51 of the Republic of Uzbekistan, titled “On Additional Measures to Further Improve the Procedure for Assigning and Using Company Names,” certain elements are prohibited from being included in a company’s official name.
Specifically, a company name must not contain:
- The full or abbreviated official name of the state, or the name of any international, intergovernmental, or non-governmental non-profit organization.
- The full or abbreviated name of a historical figure or a well-known person in the Republic of Uzbekistan, unless special permission has been obtained in accordance with the established procedure.
- Any false or misleading elements that could misrepresent the owner of the company, the nature of its activities, or the country of origin, thereby potentially confusing customers.
- Any wording or symbols that contradict public interests or violate principles of humanity and morality.
These restrictions are aimed at ensuring transparency, protecting consumers from misinformation, and maintaining ethical standards in business naming practices.
