Cooperation with the organization of the International Transport Forum will be strengthened

At the friendly meeting, issues of further strengthening and expanding joint cooperation were discussed in detail.

The International Transport Forum (ITF) is the only intergovernmental organization covering all modes of transport and acting as a think tank on transport policy issues. To date, the organization includes 64 member countries.

The purpose of the organization is to promote a better understanding of the role of transport in economic growth, environmental sustainability and social inclusion, and to raise the public profile of transport policy. It is for these purposes that the organization functions as a platform for the exchange of the best world experience and conducts research in various areas of the transport sector.

The event also discussed the project "Directions for the decarbonization of passenger transport in the city of Tashkent", implemented with the joint cooperation of the International Transport Forum and the Ministry of Transport.

The Minister of Transport I. Makhkamov separately emphasized that the recommendations developed by the International Transport Forum on the basis of deep knowledge and advanced international experience are of great importance in the integrated development of public transport in the cities of our country and decision-making.

The Secretary General of the International Transport Forum (ITF), Mr. Yang Tae Kim, highly appreciating the actions taken to develop the sphere of transport communications in our country, in particular, reforms in the field of public transport, expressed confidence that joint work in this process would be effective.

In turn, Minister of Transport I. Makhkamov noted that work on further development of cooperation with the organization of the International Transport Forum (ITF) would be accelerated.

At the end of the meeting, the parties identified tasks for further implementation within the considered areas of cooperation.
