Visit of the head of the UNICEF office to Uzbekistan

The meeting with the Minister of Youth Policy and Sports Adkham Ikramov began in a warm atmosphere, and first of all it was noted that UNICEF projects covering social spheres are being implemented in Uzbekistan on a large scale, and that these projects are producing good results. Also, one of the priorities of the projects implemented by this international organization is the development of the youth sector.

In this regard, during the meeting with the minister, youth issues were repeatedly mentioned.

In particular, negotiations were held at the meeting on establishing long-term cooperation between the Ministry and an international organization in terms of creating a balance of youth, organizing their free time in a meaningful way, preparing them for productive areas, taking into account their worldview and interests, teaching them sports, culture, IT technologies and professions .

In addition, given that the main stratum of representatives of the sports sector are young people, initiatives were put forward to create favorable conditions for them in the fields of physical culture and professional sports.

It should be noted that, simultaneously with UNICEF, the ImkonLab grant project is being implemented in 6 regions of our country. Currently, young people are participating in trainings on social entrepreneurship and the development of social projects in the Asaka district of the Andijan region and the city of Kokan in the Fergana region.

This project is important in that it quickly attracted young people, and future directions of the project are planned in regions such as Yangibozor and Boston. As a result of the meeting, it was decided to develop a separate program based on the proposals of both parties, to conduct an ongoing dialogue and cooperate in the implementation of new projects.
