The document has been translated into the six official languages of the UN - Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish - and distributed to all Member States, UN specialized agencies, posted in the Journal and the Organization's Official Document System under the number A/77/700.
The document notes that Uzbekistan continues to take practical measures to implement the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
A positive assessment was given to the ongoing fundamental reform of the public administration system, within the framework of which the number of civil servants will be gradually reduced, and the saved funds will be used to address social issues.
In particular, it is noted that in 2022, $8 billion of foreign direct investment was attracted to the economy, pensions and social benefits were raised to a level not lower than the minimum consumer spending, about 500,000 low-income families received social assistance, and an additional 500,000 student places were created in schools across the country.
The publication draws special attention to the year 2023 announced in Uzbekistan as the “Year of Caring for People and Quality Education”, one of the main tasks of which is to improve the quality of school education and improve the working conditions of teachers and their role in society. It was indicated that 70 new schools will be built this year, 460 schools will be expanded. At the same time, free meals for primary classes will be introduced in all regions. In addition, it was emphasized on the implementation in the republic of a new educational program according to European standards.
Attention was focused on the launch of the nationwide movement "Proper Nutrition and Healthy Lifestyle", the implementation of a three-year large-scale program to protect the health of mother and child, as well as the measures taken to provide the population with drinking water and electricity and improve road infrastructure in the regions.
“In general, the consistent implementation of the tasks outlined by the Government of Uzbekistan should contribute to the successful achievement of the goals provided for in the Agenda for Sustainable Development for the period until 2030, as well as the growth of the welfare of the population and the solution of pressing socio-economic issues in the republic,” the article emphasizes.
