Uzbekistan and Latvia to share their experience in digital technologies

New areas of bilateral cooperation, in particular, providing young people with high-paying jobs and expanding remote work opportunities, were discussed at the meeting. It was also noted that the demand for learning foreign languages in Uzbekistan is growing every year, especially English, Japanese, Korean, and others. It was emphasized that this process is a crucial factor in cooperation within the field of information technology and the digital economy.
At the meeting, Sherzod Shermatov presented proposals to attract a wide range of Latvian companies to Uzbekistan and establish them as residents of the IT Park. He provided information about the opportunities created in the IT Park, tax benefits, and favorable conditions for residents.
Issues related to the development of the startup ecosystem were also discussed at the meeting. In particular, the possibilities of supporting startups in cooperation with Latvia, investing in them, and implementing joint innovative projects were considered.
In turn, Ambassador Ģirts Jaunzems noted the existing areas of cooperation and the high potential for their further development. He also announced that Latvian companies will participate in ICTWEEK UZBEKISTAN 2025, to be held from September 23 to 26, 2025.
Issues of strengthening cooperation in cybersecurity, digital interaction, and the development of digital skills were also discussed at the meeting.
