Gianni Infantino visited the Olympic Village and the National Football Center

The members of the delegation visited the Olympic Village and reviewed the activities of the National Football Center in Yuqorichirchiq district.

The distinguished guest was accompanied by the Minister of Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Adham Ikramov, Vice President of the Olympic Council of Asia and First Deputy Chairman of the National Olympic Committee Otabek Umarov, and Vice President of the Uzbekistan Football Association Ravshan Irmatov.

Gianni Infantino highly praised the reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan in the field of sports, the creation of modern infrastructure, and the expanding opportunities for young people.

During his visit to Yuqorichirchiq district two years ago, Gianni Infantino laid a symbolic stone in the foundation of the National Football Center. Today, the center is fully operational and offers all the necessary conditions for the simultaneous training of several national teams. Athletes have at their disposal modern stadiums, sports halls, academic buildings, and a hotel.

The guests also visited the Center for Football Specialist Training and Research, familiarized themselves with the VAR (Video Assistant Referee) system, the training grounds of the national teams, and the Republican Football Academy.

Following the visit, Gianni Infantino met with the players of the Uzbekistan national team and congratulated them on reaching the final stage of the World Cup.
