Close attention to the development of sericulture in the Andijan region

The main focus of the event was on the high-quality and efficient organization of the silkworm harvest in 2024 based on innovative technologies.
First of all, the participants of the seminar visited the recently launched Ipak Kuchat Cluster LLC in the Markhamat district of the region. In the course of acquaintance with the functionality of the cluster, the work of the biotechnological laboratory "in - vitro" was studied.
In addition, the topic of creating mulberry plantations in order to form a food base for the silkworm directly on the areas of clusters specializing in sericulture was discussed in detail. Also within the framework of the event, there were presentations of scientists dedicated to the establishment of the collection of silkworms several times a year.
It is known that China occupies a leading position in the world market in terms of silk fiber quality and advanced production technologies. The opinions and assessments of specialists during the discussion touched upon the issues of growing a similar high-yielding cocoon and obtaining high-quality silk fiber from it in Uzbekistan. Then the recently created "Mother's Garden" for the care of silkworms, as well as the varieties "Yangi Andijon" and "Markhamat" were presented. By the way, the advantage of these varieties of cocoons is that they can be harvested 3-4 times a year. In addition, new initiatives on cocoon feeding methods were put forward during the workshop.
The next address was Harir Tola LLC, a cocoon processing enterprise in the Jalakuduk district of the Andijan region. Here, the silkworm grown in the region is processed and exported in finished form. Also, the participants of the event visited the cluster on the territory of the MSG "Uchkun", located in the Kurgantepa district, and witnessed that, in addition to agriculture and animal husbandry, sericulture was also well developed here. It is noteworthy that this cluster contributes to the well-being of many families, providing employment for local residents.
The leaders of the agro-industrial complex got acquainted in detail with the way of life and the solution of issues of employment of the population of the mahalla. They also gave instructions on further expansion and development of the industry as a whole.
